Columbia University professor of economics Jeffrey Sachs stops by OWS for an explanatory chat
Okay, this is just amazing. This is a free and very clear Columbia University class right here, in socio and macro economics which, in addition, elucidates the Big Wall Street problem - the problem with the entire society - NAMING NAMES. What had passed for a Democracy has been entirely replaced. Here is how, and what WE ALL NEED to do about it. I mean: wow.
Beyond the laundry list of things which may come from what he’s saying about all of it, I hope and expect that many military families are among those who will praise Sachs for speaking out about how the corrupt government-by-corporate-money has led us through lies into groundless war, causing the deaths and maiming of thousands, for nothing. VERY HIGHLY-CHARGED WORDS, to be sure, but in this light, absolutely appropriate. Because it’s the Truth.

This gave me goosebumps. And it should, for it’s a fascinating point: This IS the first movement of its kind, with its use of the internet and smart-phones etc. This is a unique situation. We can document information like never before. We can share information like never before. And we can garner strength from supporters the world-over like never before.
“The whole world is watching.”
Sidenote: If this is still going strong by the Fifth of November (a Saturday, as fate would have it) - and I suspect it will be - things are going to get pretty damn interesting.
